摘要

Tools are one of the basic carriers of culture. Most individual activities, including family practices, have theirroots in objects. The introduction of new tools has always been resisted at the beginning because it violatedthe institutionalized forms of life. Contemporary processes that deeply change the family make old behaviourpatterns affecting family life useless. Furthermore, tools continue to develop and new devices, such as thecomputer or the mobile phone, keep coming out. New communication technologies require new behaviourpatterns that institutionalize various forms of family life occurring in liquid modernity.
