This paper focuses on the management of the Documentation Centre of the Catalan Data Protection Authority since its creation in 2004 until date. It describes the information policies followed to obtain a successful library service within the organisation. The main topics are the origin of the Documentation Centre, its definition and type, the problem of giving it a name, mission and functions, collection management, services, users, how to communicate, communication tools, strengthening actions and conclusions.
