摘要

In order to better understand the phenomena that occur in a jet engine combustion chamber, in which multi-component fuel droplets are injected, we focus in this study on the influence of the presence of an alcohol in the fuel mixture upon its vaporization. A model experiment meant for the study of turbulent two-phase flows has been designed at IMFT. The test bench enables to create in a canal a heated, highly turbulent air flow with good properties of homogeneous and isotropic turbulence. A spray of poly-dispersed bi-component acetone/ethanol fuel droplets is injected coaxially in this flow. Measurements are conducted using planar laser-induced fluorescence to characterize the droplets’ evaporation regimes as a function of the fuel composition. Instantaneous acetone vapor concentrations are extracted from these measurements.
