THE EFFECTIVENESS OF CONSTRUCTIVIST LEARNING IN IMPROVING CAPABILITIES KNOW THE VALUE CURRENCY IN CHILDREN WITH MENTAL RETARDATION CLASS VI SLB YPPCG BHINA SEJAHTERA SURAKARTA ACADEMIC YEAR 2015/2016. Skripsi, Surakarta: Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Sebelas Maret University, June 2016. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of constructivist learning in improving the ability to know the value of the currency at a mentally retardated child class VI SLB YPPCG Bhina Sejahtera Surakarta academic year 2015/2016. This research used an experimental method with the design of one group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were students of class VI SLB YPPCG Bhina Sejahtera Surakarta academic year 2015/2016, amounting to 5 students. The sampling technique in this research is saturated sampling for all subjects used as a sample. Techniques used in data collection are interviews and multiple choice objective tests. Data analysis technique used is the analysis of non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test (Wilcoxon Signed Rank test) using SPSS 23. The results showed an increase in test scores between before and after treatment. Obtained average value is greater than pretest posttest value 52-74. The non-parametric analysis results obtained value of Z count = -2.121 with Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) = 0.034 at significance level (α) of 5%. Based on these results, we can conclude that the constructivist learning is effective in improving the ability to know the value of the currency in children with mental retardation class VI SLB YPPCG Bhina Sejahtera Surakarta academic year 2015/2016.
