It is impossible to observate the wall of the esophagus in ditail with Jacksonu27s Esophagoscope. We have tried to use prism in the esophagoscope, however, We encountered difficulty to look at the esophageal wall in contraction stage of the esophagus. We succeeded in seeing esophageal wall by using part prism from window which was covered with thin metal. This esophagoscope is extremely useful to decide early diagnosis and observe infiltration of the cancer.
