У статті розглядається ідея емансипативної соціальної науки та дослідницький проект "Реалістичні утопії" Ерика Оліна Райта у світлі поняття емансипативного інтересу соціальних наук і принципу універсалізації моральних норм Юрґена Габермаса. Увага приділяється, серед іншого, нормативному ядру цього дослідницького проекту та можливостям співпраці соціальних науковців, які беруть участь у ньому, із морально-практичними дискурсами.ud(The article contextualizes the idea of emancipatory social science by Erik Olin Wright and his research project "Real Utopias" within the framework of knowledge interests theory, particularly of emancipatory interest of social sciences, and of the universalization principle of moral norms by Jurgen Habermas. Emancipatory interest is to be understood as a way to formulate research questions so that they correspond to a leading interest of humanity: exploring and overcoming of distorted communication forms and false consciousness forms caused by the former.udA particular attention is paid to normative foundations of the Real Utopias project such as equality, democracy, sustainability, and community. These principles are argued to be able to claim universal validity, in spite of their understanding by their author. They can be understood as the most universal of all possible substantive norms which can pass the universalization test. Alternatively, it is possible to deduce them from ultimately justificated (in the sense of transcendental pragmatics by Karl-Otto Apel) moral norms. Such steps of Wright's emancipatory social science as clarifying foundations, diagnosis and critique of social institutions, thinking about alternatives, and developing a way of transformation, are considered from the point of view of emancipatory knowledge interest and principle of universalization. Some ways of cooperation of Real Utopias project with moral practical discourses are explained, among them analysis offunctioning of big social institutions, evaluating their compatibility with needs of social actors as well as with moral foundations of democratic egalitarianism, analysis of desirable, viable, and (at least in the long run) achievable alternatives to existing institutions.)
