The present invention relates to an aircraft (1) of modular type comprising: - at least one rotor (2) capable of carrying out all or part of a propulsion and / or lift of said aircraft (1), - at least one motorization (3, 13) of the combustion type or of the electric type, a main power transmission box (4), for mechanically transmitting a motor torque generated by said at least one motorization (3, 13) to said at least one rotor (2), and an electronic avionics system (5) for piloting said aircraft (1). According to the invention, the electronic avionics system (5) is configured to automatically carry out said piloting for the aircraft (1) when 'aircraft (1) comprises only a first motorization (3) or when the aircraft (1) comprises a first and a second motorization (13).
