A method for installing a window frame in an inclined roof structure, where a sealing collar comprising an installation frame is arranged on the exterior side of the roof structure, so that an opening therein is substantially aligned with an opening in the roof, and attached to the battens. Subsequently, underroof sections are folded up along the inner side of the opening in the roof structure and attached to an exterior side of the installation frame. Each underroof section extends along one side of the roof opening and were formed by dividing the part of the underroof previously covering the roof opening in four. At least one pad is applied at each corner of the sealing collar, so that an uninterrupted wind-proofing extending along the entire inner edge is provided, and the window frame is the inserted in the collar and roof openings. A sealing collar is also disclosed.
