A mechanism for beam selection is provided. The method is performed by the first wireless transceiver. This method is at least to estimate link quality of a radio signal carried from a second radio transceiver to a first radio transceiver by the first beam and the second beam acquired from the first beam set. This includes getting the value. The second beam is wider than the first beam. The method determines whether one of the first beam and the second beam is a first beam according to a comparison between a link quality estimate of the first beam and a compensated link quality estimate of the second beam.
