Apparatus for the conduct of cognitive behaviour therapy comprising a surround vision system of at least two screens 2, 3 enclosing a space 1 to receive a patient 20 and a therapist providing treatment, a plurality of projectors, sets of recorded scenes each set relating to a theme and representing a different level of difficulty to the patient, a controller to control the images displayed on the screens, a command device 12 and a camera 23 to record behaviour of the patient and therapist during therapy. The projectors project images onto the screens such that they are perceived as uninterrupted by the viewer. The controller and the command device are in communication such that the patient or therapist can control the set of scenes projected. The apparatus may include a surround sound system. The system may include anxiety monitoring device that may be in communication with the controller.
