The present invention relates to a shredding device (8) for a sanitary crusher, characterized in that it comprises a grid (10), a knife (30) rotatably mounted relative to a first planar face (11a) of the grid (10 ) and defining a cutting plane parallel to the plane of the first planar face (11a) of the grid (10), said device (8) comprising at least one position adjusting element (60a, 60b) which is disposed between the first flat face (11a) of the grid (10) and the cutting plane of the knife (30) in order to ensure a predetermined spacing (d) between them, said adjustment element (60a, 60b) being made of a material which is capable of being degraded at least in part during the operation of the device (8).
