The invention relates to an electric food preparation appliance (10) comprising a motor base (1) comprising an electric motor (14), a working container (2), a rotary working tool (3), a cover (4) ) which can occupy a closed position on the working container (2), an electric heater (5) for heating the working container (2), a control device (6) for selecting a temperature level from among several levels of predetermined temperature, a temperature control device using the temperature level selected to control the power supply of the electric heater (5), and a safety device (8) prohibiting the power supply of the electric motor (14) if the lid (4) does not occupy the closed position on the working container (2). According to the invention, the predetermined temperature levels comprise one or more predetermined first temperature level (s) for which the safety device (8) authorizes the feeding of the electric heating device (5) if the lid (4) does not occupy the closed position on the working container (2).
