A dressing method for a grinding wheel includes: rotating the grinding wheel; bringing a grinding surface on an outer periphery of the grinding wheel into contact with a dresser while rotating, and relatively moving the grinding wheel and the dresser in a grindstone width direction of the grinding wheel while rotating. The dressing method further includes: measuring a wear amount of the dresser with respect to a grindstone width of the grinding wheel; and dressing the grinding wheel by relatively moving the grinding wheel in a cutting direction in accordance with a relative movement in the grinding stone width direction between the grinding wheel and the dresser, the wear amount of the dresser being adopted as a cutting amount in the cutting direction.
