The invention relates to a bus node (BK) for a single-wire data bus (bus) with the ability to take part in an auto-addressing method and corresponding further variants and methods that the bus node and the data bus system carry out. The bus node (BK) is intended to be inserted into the single-wire data bus (bus). It has a bus node controller (BS) and at least one coupling device with a preferred internal resistance of less than 0.5 Ω, which preferably comprises a partial device (L) generating a magnetic field in combination with a measuring system (HL) for detecting the magnetic flux density (B) generated. The coupling device (L, HL, D1, R2) is intended to be flowed through by a bus current (I) of the single-wire data bus (bus) at least temporarily in the addressing phase in the direction of a bus master (BM). In the event of such a flow through the bus current (I), the coupling device (L, HL, D1, R2) generates a measured value of the bus current (I) which depends on the bus current (I). The address assignment by the bus node controller (BS) then takes place as a function of this measured value of the bus current (I), which is detected by the coupling device (HL, L, D1, R2).
