In catering establishments, service staff are basically analogue, e.g. B. by a show of hands or verbally. Alternatively, the guest has to wait until the service person comes over to the service by himself. This leads to long waiting times for the guest and, if necessary, unnecessary walking distances through the service staff to inquire about the guest's needs. When a guest calls a service person, it is not clear at that moment whether the guest wants to request a meal, a drink or the invoice. At the same time, the catering business can only inform the guest about the status of his order through the service staff, which is usually not done. To solve the aforementioned problems, the new system enables direct communication between the catering business and the guest. The system consists of multimedia display technologies that are coupled with computer technologies and through which the user can send and receive data. The guest is provided with a computer with a touch-sensitive display (tablet computer, see Fig. 1.1) with which he can communicate his wish to be served. The request selected by the guest is displayed to the catering establishment on a stationary or mobile computer. The restaurateur can react accordingly. The human resources of the catering business are optimally used by the invention and the owner is given the opportunity to inform the guest about the status of his order or to play advertising on the information technology and to sell this advertising time. The system is suitable for use due to the specific design in any type of catering business. Due to the design as a card holder, it does not take up any additional space and can be used without additional effort due to the wireless connection, cf. Drawing.
