The present invention relates to a method for producing a grain-oriented electrical steel strip provided with an insulation layer, comprising at least the following steps (A) providing a grain-oriented electrical steel band, (B) applying an insulation layer to at least one side of the grain-oriented electrical steel band, the application of the insulation layer in the form of a film on the grain-oriented electrical steel by a bottom-up process, a corresponding grain-oriented electrical steel provided with at least one insulation layer, and its use in transformers.
