FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to pathological physiology, and can be used to simulate thermal burn in experimental rats. It is followed by general anaesthesia of an animal and infrared radiation of a thermal burn on its skin. Thermal burn on the animal's skin is obtained by a device for implementing the method containing a focusing plate, a thermocouple, an infrared radiation source with a control unit and a removable support attachment. Rat's hind legs are arranged horizontally. Centre working surface of the focusing plate and an end contact of the thermocouple of the device, the flexible wire of which is pressed by the focusing plate to the skin of the animal, is placed in the centre of the prepared area of rat skin. Then, at equal distance from the central working hole of the focusing plate, the edges of the detachable support nozzle fixed at the end of the device radiator are installed. Infrared radiation is switched on, burn parameters are selected on the infrared radiation source control unit display, wire and end contact of the thermocouple are removed from under the focusing plate, and infrared radiation is applied to the selected skin area with parameters set on the display. Device for simulating thermal burn in experimental rats comprises focusing plate and source of infrared radiation with display of control unit. Infrared radiation source is connected by means of flexible wires to an external thermocouple and to an emitter made in the form of a handle with a support nozzle. Focusing plate is made with a handle for installation between the body surface of the animal and the nozzle end face oriented to the animal. Focusing plate has thickness of 1 to 2.5 mm and is made from polished stainless steel with a central working hole with diameter of 15 to 17 mm to determine the boundaries of thermal burn by limiting the light spot of the radiator on the surface of the animal's body.;EFFECT: group of inventions provides a thermal burn model with stable wound process characteristics comparable in depth and area of tissue damage, as well as approximately equal speed and completeness of wound healing in experimental animals by using infrared radiation and parameters of focusing plate.;6 cl, 4 dwg
