FIELD: biofilters.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to submersible rotary biofilter and can be used for treatment of domestic effluents and similar contaminants from small settlements and separately located objects (rest houses, cottages and detached industrial enterprises, etc.). Modified submersible rotating biofilter for cleaning waste water from contaminants includes a reservoir, a filter drum mounted on a horizontal rotation shaft and partially submerged into waste water, a water supply pipe, a water distribution tray, water discharge pipe and water discharge tray, wherein drum diameter / length ratio is increased to one and a half times, ventilation gaps are arranged diagonally in drum cross-section, perpendicular to rotation shaft there is a ventilation gap separating drum into two adjacent cylinders connected by ribs, each cylinder is divided into cells, inside each cell perpendicular to rotation shaft there is a rod for mixing of mobile loading material with large surface area, and along perimeter of drum there installed are buckets in the form of open boxes with length equal to length of drum.;EFFECT: invention improves efficiency of the process of biological treatment of waste water and nitrification by increasing the rate of oxygen transfer without using external aeration and increasing the surface area of the charge.;1 cl, 9 dwg
