The present invention relates to a root barrier and waterproofing system using metal thread sheet tape and a root barrier and waterproofing method using the system. An objective of the present invention is to provide excellent root barrier and waterproofing by covering an area of a waterproof sheet overlapping portion with metal thread sheet tape, reinforce airtightness of an internal space of an overlapping portion by a waterproof tube to block leakage defects through the overlapping portion, divide a space between the waterproof sheet and an artificial vegetation floor into a plurality space cell areas by an embossing-type band layer to block leakage spreading by damage to the waterproof sheet, and promote convenience by partial maintenance and repair of the waterproof sheet. The root barrier and waterproofing system using metal thread sheet tape comprises a waterproof sheet (10), a synthetic polymer-based root barrier sheet layer (20), an embossing-type band layer (30), and metal thread sheet tape (40).
