The current supply system 20 is designed to be at least partially immersed in an electrically conductive liquid during its operation and includes at least one electrically conductive component 21, 22, 23, 24 enclosed in a liquidtight material 40. Parts 21, 22, 23, and 24 contain sacrificial materials that are capable of electrochemically reacting with the liquid. Further, the parts 21, 22, 23, 24 include at least one gas trap portion 50 in which the sacrificial material occupies a space in the liquid-tight material 40, whereby the space is confined to the gas trapping shape. In the case of damage to the system 20 in the actual immersion state, when parts 21, 22, 23, 24 are exposed to liquid, electricity generated in the exposed areas of the parts 21, 22, 23, 24 It is achieved to stop the chemical reaction and the leakage of electric current into the liquid.
