The present invention relates to a method of detection and quantification of phenolic compounds using a mutated artificial genetic circuit. More specifically, the mutated artificial genetic circuit is configured using a mutated dmpR protein which is obtained by substituting methionine (M) at position 52 in wild type dmpR with isoleucine (I) or cysteine (C), or additionally substituting glutamine (Q) at position 71 in wild type dmpR with alanine (A), glutamic acid (E) at position 135 with lysine (K), or lysine at position 188 with arginine (R). Accordingly, the present invention provides the effect of being able to accurately detect and quantify even a small amount of various phenol compounds.
