Provided are a method for monitoring a material position by using a low-power infrared beacon and a high-speed camera and a system therefor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for monitoring a material position by using a low-power infrared beacon and a high-speed camera comprises the steps of: transmitting, by a beacon module, ID information through an infrared signal; receiving, by a high-speed camera, the infrared signal and extracting the ID information; and receiving, by an information processing device, the extracted ID information and extracting material information and material position information corresponding to the ID information from pre-stored information. Therefore, positions of materials distributed in industrial sites can be accurately identified by recognizing exact tag positions based on coordinates detected in an image and further recognizing various tags existing on a screen.
