The present invention relates to a skin whitening, wrinkle alleviation, or ultraviolet ray blocking cosmetic composition comprising an extract or a fermented product of Salvia miltiorrhiza; a food composition comprising the extract or the fermented product of Salvia miltiorrhiza; and a method for manufacturing the Salvia miltiorrhiza extract and the Salvia miltiorrhiza fermented product. The composition of the present invention comprises the extract or the fermented product of Salvia miltiorrhiza. The extract or the fermented product has excellent skin whitening, wrinkle alleviation, and ultraviolet ray blocking effects, thereby being used as a cosmetic composition or a food composition for antiaging.
