The present invention relates to a hot air type high speed drying apparatus for high efficiency drying of direct reduced iron, comprising: a main body having a longitudinal shape; heaters installed to be spaced by a predetermined distance for positioning the main body up and down; a ceramic insulation member provided to prevent external loss of a heat source generated by the heaters; a transferring drum provided on the inner side, where the heaters are installed, in the longitudinal direction of the main body, having a hollow cylindrical shape, and provided with a rib so that a drying material can be transferred through an inner hollow space according to transferring rotation to rotate through a rotary motor; and a hot air supply means including a heater primarily heating wind generated by a blower, and provided with a transferring pipe to supply the hot air heated by the heater toward the hollow inside of the transferring drum for drying the material transferred and dried through the transferring drum.
