A physical layer security method and system for cooperative multihop routing in an ad-hoc wireless network are presented. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the physical layer security method for cooperative multihop routing in an ad-hoc wireless network comprises the steps of: transmitting information at a transmitter in an ad-hoc wireless network environment where an eavesdropper is present; receiving the transmitted information through at least one of a plurality of relays of a plurality of hops, and transmitting the received information to a receiver; and receiving information from the receiver through the relay. In the step of receiving the information through the at least one of the plurality of relays of the plurality of hops and transmitting to the receiver, at least one relay may be selected from each relay cluster of the plurality of hops to transmit the information.
