Disclosed are a dimming unit having an optical system with improved aberration, and a holographic three-dimensional image display apparatus including the same. The disclosed dimming unit includes a coherent light source, a projection optical element that focuses light emitted from the coherent light source, and is disposed between the coherent light source and the projection optical element. It may include a holographic optical element is formed an interference pattern to diffract the light emitted from the provided to the projection optical element.
