A remote upgrade method for an energy storage system, and an energy management system and a battery management system. The remote upgrade method is applied to an energy storage system. The energy storage system comprises an energy management system, a battery management system and an energy storage converter. The remote upgrade method for the energy storage system comprises: obtaining a file to be upgraded of the energy storage system; when the current operating state of the energy storage system allows a program upgrade, controlling the energy storage system to be powered off at a high voltage by means of the energy storage converter, and detecting a high-voltage online state of the energy storage system by means of the battery management system; receiving a notification, sent by the battery management system, that high-voltage powering off of the energy storage system has been completed; and sending said file to the battery management system so as to facilitate the battery management system in performing the program upgrade according to said file. The remote upgrade method can realize a remote program upgrade of an energy storage system, and simplify an upgrade operation of the energy storage system, thereby saving on manpower and time costs; in addition, the upgrade and communication can use the same circuit, thereby saving on hardware costs.
