The present invention comprises a first burner part (6-1) in which a flame sensor (8) for detecting information about the state of combustion of a flame produced by a burner is installed, and a second burner part (6-2) that includes a different number of burners from said first burner part. The present invention further comprising: a combustion part (4) in which one or both of the first burner part and the second burner part perform(s) combustion; a combustion control unit (10) for monitoring the combustion mode of the combustion part, which is set according to a hot water supply request, and changing the combustion mode to a first combustion mode in which at least the first burner part is caused to perform combustion when a second combustion mode, in which the first burner part is not caused to perform combustion, continues; and a combustion adjustment control unit (12) for executing a combustion adjustment process of the combustion part by assimilating the combustion state information for the first burner part as detected by the flame sensor. It is thereby possible to periodically monitor the combustion state of the burners and improve combustion therein regardless of the combustion mode resulting from the hot water supply request.
