A method for adapting a Maximum Operational Time Difference based on a User Equipment activity level is provided. The method comprises: determining a UE activity level at the UE; determining a Maximum Operational Time Difference (MOTD) parameter based on the determined UE activity level; and operating a first signal between the UE and a first cell based on the determined MOTD parameter. A wireless device carrying out this method is also provided.
