An example valve includes: a motor; a gear reducer disposed in a gear reducer housing, where the gear reducer is coupled to the motor; a lead screw coupled to the gear reducer, where the lead screw comprises external threads disposed on an exterior surface of the lead screw, and where the gear reducer housing comprises one or more legs extending longitudinally therefrom; and a piston having internal threads disposed on an interior surface of the piston, wherein the internal threads of the piston engage with the external threads of the lead screw to threaded engage the piston to the lead screw, such that rotation of the lead screw causes the piston to move longitudinally, and wherein the piston includes one or more slots configured to receive the one or more legs of the gear reducer housing therethrough.
