A voice control method for a sweeping robot, and a sweeping robot, the method comprising: collecting a first voice signal of a current user by means of a voice collector (S1); determining whether the first voice signal matches a preset voice awakening instruction (S2); if yes, awakening a sweeping robot to enter a working state (S3); if not, prompting that an inputted first voice signal is erroneous. By means of the collection and recognition of user sound information, voice control of a sweeping robot is achieved, which greatly improves the usage experience of a user.
