Disclosed is a method for preparing a coating composition for an organic compound detection sensor, the method comprising the steps of: mixing a solvent, a graphene-metal oxide composite material, and a polypropylene glycol (PPG) resin; agitating the mixture to disperse same for a first time; adding a binder, a dispersing agent, and a thickener to the mixture dispersed for the first time; and dispersing the mixture containing the binder, the dispersing agent, and the thickener for a second time by using a high-pressure homogenizer. The coating composition for an organic compound detection sensor, according to one embodiment of the present invention, shows excellent performance in discriminating between steam and organic compounds and detecting the leaked organic compounds, and thus can detect the leakage of infinitesimal organic compounds, and the composition has excellent coatability, and thus may be advantageously used in the manufacture of the organic compound detection sensor.
