A solid oxide fuel cell system is provided with: a fuel supply main line for supplying fuel; a plurality of fuel cell stacks in which solid oxide fuel cells are used, the fuel cell stacks including at least a first fuel cell stack and a second fuel cell stack and being provided in series on the fuel supply main line; a first reformer provided upstream of the first fuel cell stack on the fuel supply main line, the first reformer reforming the fuel using a reforming endothermic reaction; a second reformer provided between the first fuel cell stack and the second fuel cell stack on the fuel supply main line, the second reformer reforming the fuel using a reforming endothermic reaction and a methanation exothermic reaction; and a fuel supply auxiliary line connected between the first fuel cell stack and the second reformer.
