A construction system for the production of prefabricated housing units comprising wall elements (2, 2', 2"), with vertical extension, column elements (4) for connecting head portions (3) of the wall elements (2, 2', 2"), connection means (11) for connecting the wall elements (2, 2', 2") with the column elements (4), in which the column elements (4) are configured as hollow shaped elements which are mainly extended along a vertical direction in use and have an open section which delimits a longitudinal opening (5) along the entire length of each of the column elements (4), in order to facilitate the access within the same and facilitate the assembly of the connection means.
