The present utility model concerns a method for producing okra flakes comprising: washing mature okra; steam blanching the washed okra for 20-30 minutes; pureeing the steam blanched okra; mixing about 5 pcnt w/w carrier ingredient and about 20 pcnt w/w water to the pureed okra; laying the mixture on a tray coated with vegetable oil; steaming the mixture for 50-60 minutes; and baking the steamed mixture at 60øC for 20-30 minutes. The present utility model also concerns okra flakes obtainable by said method.
