The purpose of the notification is the 1-methoxy-1-oxoalkan-2-yl ester of 3,5-dichlorosalicyl acid according to an invention of a general formula in which R stands for alkyl with two or three carbon atoms. In addition, the notification also covers the method of production of 1-methoxy-1-oxoalkane-2-yl acid 3,5-dichlorosalicyl, which is characterised by the reaction of 3,5-dichlorosalicyl acid with methyl 2-bromoalkanate in the solvent at temperature 92-96-oC from one hour to two hours,in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate. The molar ratio of 3,5-dichlorosalicyl acid to methyl 2-bromoalkanoates is 1:1. The molar ratio of 3,5-dichlorosalicyl acid to potassium carbonate is 1:0,4 to 1:0,55. The product i s excreted by pouring the reaction mixture into the water with ice and separating the product by suction or extraction. 1-methoxy-1-oxoalkan-2-yl ester of 3,5-dichlorosalicyl acid with a general formula in which R stands for alkyl with two or three carbon atoms is obtained.
