A methylsilicic acid hydrogel is made by reacting a solution of sodium methylsilanolate with a gaseous acidic reagent. The resulting product is evacuated to remove residual gas and washed with water. The bubbling of a gaseous acidic agent with a solution of sodium methylsilanolate results in a significant content of OH groups in the hydrogel, which makes it possible to increase the selectivity of the adsorption properties when the hydrogel is used in human and veterinary medicine. The obtained methylsilicic acid hydrogel with the properties of supramolecular structures is described by the formula: [{CHSi (OH) O} {CHSi (OH) O} {CHSiO}] • xHOkde11-35; 0 ≤ a / n≤0.38; 0.19 ≤ b / n ≤ 0.9; 0.11≤ c / n ≤ 0.49.
