a construction pest control composition, the composition including, as an active component, at least one type of amide derivative represented by the following formula (1), in which q represents an unsubstituted phenyl group or a substituted phenyl group in position 2-, 3- or 4- with a fluorine atom, r represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and each of y1 and y2 independently represents a bromine atom, an iodine atom or a trifluoromethyl group and a method to control pests that inhabit buildings, the method including, treating a space in the building with the composition.
