The present invention provides a genetic marker on human chromosome 6 associated with a beneficial response to a therapy targeting Clostridium difficile (C. difficile) toxin B (TcdB) (eg, a TcdB antibody). I do. These TcdB therapeutic response markers are particularly useful for treating TcdB in a method of treating patients having a disease that is susceptible to treatment with a TcdB antibody, and in a method for selecting an optimal therapy for such patients. It is useful to identify patients who are most likely to benefit from. The present invention also provides antibodies, drugs and kits useful for using the TcdB therapeutic response markers of the invention. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
