PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estimation method and device for a molten steel flow state capable of estimating online the whole three-dimensional molten steel flow state in a casting mold, and to provide an online display device for the molten steel flow state and a continuous casting method for the steel.SOLUTION: An estimation method for a molten steel flow state includes: a step of calculating the temperature distribution of a molten steel by a physical model; a step of calculating an error between the molten steel temperature distributions measured by a sensor and calculated by the physical model; a step of analyzing the sensitivity of the distribution change of molten steel temperature when the external force applied near a nozzle on the physical model changes; and a step of calculating the change amount of the external force based on the error and the sensitivity of the temperature distribution change. In the temperature distribution-calculating step, the external force change amount is added to the external force used in the previous calculation; the temperature distribution of the molten steel is calculated again by the physical model; and then the molten steel flow state is estimated from the calculated molten steel temperature distribution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
