To provide a kindling device capable of limiting use of the kindling device to a cooking room and a smoking room where a ventilation fan is installed.SOLUTION: There is provided a kindling device such that a lighting unit 1 has a chimney space at its center part, and includes a lighting zone in the chimney space and a kindling zone outside the chimney space, the lighting zone located at the center part is encircled with the kindling zone in plan view. The kindling device is provided with: a case having a ventilation opening RR provided at a base center part; a cylindrical body which is stood at the center part of the case, and forms a combustion space communicating with the ventilation opening; a lighting element which is inserted into the combustion space of the cylindrical body; and an additive element which adjoins an outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical body, wherein the lighting zone is formed of the cylindrical body, lighting element, and additive element at the center part of the case, a heat insulating ventilation layer is provided on a bottom surface of the case outside the cylindrical body, and a lighting material is mounted above the heat insulating ventilation layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
