To provide contact vent layer type external insulation exterior wall structure that comprises a contact vent layer type heat insulation panel with the function to prevent fire spreading to the heat insulation material on fire, and a coping capable of being used for the heat insulation panel, and that has more higher fire spreading prevention effect to the heat insulation material as compared with the conventional structure.SOLUTION: The exterior wall structure comprises a concrete external wall and a heat insulation composite panel in contact with the concrete external wall. The heat insulation composite panel has a heat insulation layer, an exterior cladding substrate material and an exterior cladding material. The heat insulation layer is in contact with the concrete external wall. The exterior cladding substrate material has a plurality of strip grooves disposed opposed to the heat insulation layer and the portions between the plurality of strip grooves in contact with the heat insulation layer. The exterior cladding material is in contact with the exterior cladding substrate material. The exterior wall structure is in contact with the concrete external wall and the upper surface of heat insulation layer and is provided with a water resistant layer with its tip located on same surface as the surface of heat insulation layer. The exterior wall structure is provided with a coping in contact with the upper surface of at least one portion of the water resistant layer and disposed so as to cover the upper surface of the exterior cladding substrate material and the exterior cladding material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
