PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the possibility of developing bifurcated porridge infarction (BAD) in the acute phase in a novel test animal, and a diagnostic agent for BAD in the acute phase. A method for evaluating the possibility of developing BAD in the acute phase in a test animal is to measure the concentration of pentraxin 3 (PTX3) in blood derived from the test animal, and the obtained measured value is preset. If it exceeds the standard value, it is evaluated that the test animal is likely to develop BAD in the acute phase, and if it is below the standard value, it develops BAD in the acute phase. It is an evaluation method that evaluates that it is unlikely to be present. Diagnostic agents for BAD in the acute phase include anti-PTX3 antibodies. [Selection diagram] None
