To provide an amino acid analysis method, an amino acid analysis kit and an amino acid analyzer with which it is possible to easily analyze an amino acid without using a fluorescence reagent.SOLUTION: The present invention is a method for analyzing an amino acid, the amino acid analysis method including: mixing phenol to an amino acid solution, mixing a sodium hypochlorite to the obtained mixed solution, and developing a prescribed color. In the amino acid analysis method, it is preferable that the absorbance of the color developing solution be measured in the wavelength range of 620 nm to 660 nm inclusive. It is preferable that the amino acid analysis method be carried out at a temperature of 25°C or below. It is preferable that the sodium hypochlorite be an aqueous solution derived by dissolving a sodium hypochlorite pentahydrate crystal in water.SELECTED DRAWING: None
