To provide a core-shell type aqueous biomass emulsion which is less in odor inherent to a rosin and is excellent in adhesion to paper and a film even when a rosin as a plant-derived resource is used with a high content.SOLUTION: A core-shell type aqueous biomass emulsion contains water, (A) a modified rosin alkali salt, (B) a synthetic resin alkali salt soluble in water, and (C) an emulsion polymerization product of a monomer having a vinyl group, in which the components (A) and (B) constitute shell parts, the component (C) constitutes a core part, a number average molecular weight of modified rosin contained in the component (A) is 250-5,000, and 20-55 mass% of the modified rosin is contained in the total mass of the modified rosin, the synthetic resin and the component (C).SELECTED DRAWING: None
