A probe for ultrasonic crack detection is provided in an object with at least three edges along a longitudinal axis. The test head pliers contain a pliers head, which is connected by a hinge with two handles and contains a test head for the delivery and detection of ultrasound and a lead wedge, a first surface of the lead wedge resting on the test head, a second surface of the lead wedge at an angle α to the first surface of the leading wedge is arranged and the second surface is suitable for being applied to a flat surface between two edges of the object by closing the probe pliers. The test head pliers also enable cracks to be detected with very high sensitivity in the edge area of the test specimen. A kit is also provided and uses of the probe clamp or the kit are proposed.
