The present invention relates to a security device, in particular for use in a potential hazardous situation, comprising: an input device for receiving information regarding a potential hazardous situation; a storage means configured to store the acquired information; a transmitting means adapted to transmit by means of a teletransmission link the information stored in the storage means. Furthermore, the security device comprises an activation means for the manual activation of the transmission means, as well as a delay means which is designed to activate the transmission means after a predetermined duration. Furthermore, a method for securing in a potential hazardous situation is disclosed.
