The invention relates to a device for the thermal-mechanical cutting of reinforcements and rubber compounds, the device comprising a cutting component with a cutting edge, a fastening component and a voltage source for heating the cutting component, characterized in that the cutting component is attached to the fastening component and the voltage source thereto is suitable to heat at least a portion of the cutting edge to a temperature in the range of 50 ° C to 200 ° C, and the material and / or the shape of the cutting component is selected so that upon application of an electrical current at least a portion of the cutting component on a temperature in the range of 50 ° C to 200 ° C is heated. The invention relates to a use of the device for the thermal-mechanical cutting of reinforcements and rubber mixtures and to a method for the thermal-mechanical cutting of reinforcements and rubber mixtures.
