FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for investigating water permeability and suffusion resistance of a structural unit model of a ground hydraulic structure, which consists of non-cohesive soil and filtering geosynthetic material, including arrangement of structural element model on lower grid lying on fixed support grid located in lower part of filtration chamber, laying a sample of loose earth, performed by separate layers, subjecting it to easy compaction by pressing, and near walls of filtration chamber - by means of installation of the installation above the sample of unbound earth of upper mesh, then of movable loading grid, on which by means of a load transfer device a given load is transmitted, water saturation of the soil sample with boiled or distilled water with an upward flow direction, creation of pressure by the upper and lower cisterns tanks by supplying water to the tank of the upper pool by a pump from the water reservoir coming through the pipe, determining the pressure gradient from the readings of the tubular piezometers connected to the tanks of the upper and lower beams, determining the load on the soil from the load sensor, fixing the settling of the movable loading grid by the linear displacement sensor, calculation of coefficient of soil sample filtration at ascending or descending direction of water flow. Method is characterized by that a sample of the geosynthetic material of the structural element model pre-conditioned for at least three hours in distilled water is placed in a filtration chamber and uniformly distributed over the surface of the lower mesh, the connection of the conical settling tank and the filtration chamber is sealed by tightening the flange joint using bolts which provide uniform clamping of the sample of the geosynthetic material along the perimeter, then placing on sample of geosynthetic material sample of unbound earth with layer-by-layer compaction by pressing such that thickness of layer of loose earth is not less than half of inner diameter of filtration chamber, after examination, a sample of the geosynthetic material is extracted from the filtration chamber, dried to an air-dry state, is weighed and the amount of soil which has been subjected to clogging of the sample of the geosynthetic material is determined by comparing its weight with the weight of the sample of the geosynthetic material installed before the investigation, and residual water permeability and the filtration coefficient of the sample of the geosynthetic material are determined.;EFFECT: use of the proposed method enables higher reliability, accuracy and effectiveness of the studies.;1 cl, 4 dwg
