Cruton-clay steps are made with a width that makes it possible to place on them a rock mass falling from above, rock-protective embankments with hydraulic excavators of the "reverse spade" type installed on them and access roads for supplying vehicles for loading of the rock mass. Truncation and development of steeply inclined steps are performed successively from top to bottom with horizontal layers using hydraulic backhoe excavators. At the same time re-opening of upper steeply inclined steps is combined in time with formation of lower steeply inclined stage, which is carried out simultaneously with development of adjoining volumes of minerals.
